Water
The prompt for this month's Festival of Postcards is water:
[..] postcards depicting bodies of water, boats, bridges, fish – or anything that contains liquid! And please feel free to interpret the theme as liberally as you wish.
That's not too difficult in a water-rich country like Holland. I already showed you postcards with a canal in Maastricht and the sea at Scheveningen, and there will probably be more canals, rivers and seascapes passing by in future posts, either here at Roots or at Trace your Dutch roots.
Today's postcard shows two small boats on (probably) a Frisian lake. I don't know how this card ended up in my collection, the card never ran. There is a Frisian caption printed on the back which suggests that this card is number 7 in the series On and around the water, but I don't have any other cards from this series. The caption of card 7 translates roughly Quietly lies the world around us.

I love this painting, Henk. I find the painter really captured the physical feel of sailing with the man in the left foreground.

I appreciate your participation because the fact that you have postcards from you part of the world brings something a little different to the Festival.
