On the Graveyard Rabbit of Utrecht and Het Gooi I recently posted a few photos from the Bosdrift cemetery in Hilversum. The Van Kampen family has its roots in Hilversum, and several members of this family are buried at Bosdrift. We've already seen my grandfather and great-grandfather, Hendrik (1912-1997) and Hendrik (1877-1941) van Kampen.
Today's tombstone is the stone of Gerrit van Kampen, his wife Maria Hendrica Lamme, and their daughter Alida van Kampen. Gerrit is a first cousin of my great-grandfather (and thus my first cousin thrice removed).
Gerrit van Kampen, son of Carel van Kampen and Mijntje de Rooij, was born on 1 July 1880 in Hilversum, and died on 11 March 1955 in Hilversum. He married Maria Hendrica Lamme, daughter of Pieter Lamme and Aaltje Gijzen, on 21 September 1904 in Hilversum. Maria Hendrica was born on 5 November 1878 in Loosdrecht, and died on 10 September 1959 in Hilversum. They had five children (three of them reached adulthood): Carel (1905-1986), Alida (3-20 October 1906), Alida (1908-1978), Pieter (1912-1992) and a stillborn child (1917). I don't expect there are still graves for the infants. I don't know where Carel is buried. Alida (born 27 December 1908 in Hilversum, died 13 April 1978, never married as far as I know) is buried with her parents. Pieter is buried on the Zuiderhof cemetery in Hilversum, I showed the grave of Pieter van Kampen and his wife on my Graveyard Rabbit blog.
