Among the family papers in my possession is an album with postcards of Dutch churches, collected by my grandfather. Most of the cards are from the 1930s. On Sundays, I post cards from this collection in the series Church Sunday. Today: The Emmakerk in Amersfoort.
The Emmakerk (Emma Church) still exists, but is known under another name: Emmaüskerk (Emmaus church). I don't know when and why the name changed from Emma (the name of a Dutch Queen) to Emmaus (a biblical place), and I also don't know anything about the history of this church.
