Among the family papers in my possession is an album with postcards of Dutch churches, collected by my grandfather. Most of the cards are from the 1930s. On Sundays, I post cards from this collection in the series Church Sunday. Today: The St. Lebuinus church of Deventer.
The St. Lebuinus (or Lebuin) church in Deventer. This 15th century church was built on the location of several earlier churches (the first of which was founded by St. Lebuin, hence the name). Since the reformation the church building belongs to the Dutch Reformed Church (and its successor, the Protestant Church of the Netherlands). It is still in use as a church today.
