Gathering dust: A photo of a tobacconist
On Saturdays I rummage through my old cabinet, pull out and dust off an item, and present it here on Roots. Today: A photo of the tobacconist shop of my great-grandfather Albert Melessen.
The tobacconist shop of my great-grandfather, Albert Melessen. I'm not sure exactly where and when he ran this shop. He lived in Amsterdam, and I have a list of three addresses where he lived since 1936, but this shop is at a different address. The photo must have been taken before 1936 (because I know his addresses since 1936), probably in the early or mid thirties.
Finding out the address of the shop, when Mr. Melessen operated it, how he obtained it and what happened to it is still on my to do list.
File: Albert Melessen.
